IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Dear Prospective Volunteers,

Please note that we are currently seeking volunteers with specific skill sets and long-term availability to help us meet the needs of upcoming projects and to establish greater continuity among our volunteer base.  We are forever grateful to all the thousands of volunteers that have come through our doors since August 15th 2024, but at the moment there is much to be done requires us to slow our volunteer turnover rate and be more selective in accepting volunteer applications.  However, please don’t be discouraged from applying! Rather, we encourage you to highlight all your relevant skills and carefully fill out your volunteer application.

What we need at the moment are volunteers that can commit to AT LEAST ONE MONTH in order to see some continuity through with our various projects and initiatives. Volunteers with professional skills in NGO/non-profit work, international work experience, community development and Spanish language abilities will go to the front of the application process at this time.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we try to meet the needs of our projects as best as possible.  If you feel you do not meet the criteria above, please do not be discouraged from making a difference somewhere else.  There are many other fantastic volunteer opportunities around the world and particularly within South America.  Check out opportunities available through our long term partner The Omprakash Foundation by visiting www.omprakash.org or www.volunteersouthamerica.net for other great opportunities.

From everyone at Pisco Sin Fronteras

While we always appreciate everyone’s interest, volunteer applications are evaluated based on the following primary criteria:

  • Relevant Professional Skills
  • Relevant Studies
  • Spanish and English language proficiency
  • Length of Service (three weeks minimum, longer stays preferred)
  • Leadership capacity
  • Volunteer ambition and motivation to serve

Pisco Sin Fronteras is constantly seeking support from volunteers with practical experience in any and all fields relevant to the work done through PSF.  For Construction Projects and Community Development Initiatives we’re looking for people with the following:

Construction Projects: electricians, carpenters, plumbers, mechanics, engineers, architects, and multi-talented “Mr(s). Fix-its” are strongly encouraged to apply.
Community Development Initiatives: English teachers (and/or TEFL certified teachers), teachers (general), sports coaches, social workers, etc., as well as those with experience in environmental conservation are strongly encouraged to apply((Please note: while Community Development Initiative Program Managers require a minimum term of service of 3 – 6 months, there are often projects requiring support of general volunteers with relevant experience who would not need to make an extended commitment.)).

While we welcome support from people with skills acquired from these professions and activities, none of these skills is an absolute prerequisite!  One of the most valuable aspects of the PSF Volunteer Experience is that everyone has the chance to learn new skills in a wide range of areas that will help them contribute to our work in Pisco and enriching their own lives at the same time.  So if you don’t know how to wield a jackhammer or you’re not exactly a “kid-person”, not to worry; the diversity of our projects provides something for everyone and although you may not know it, you will no doubt find yourself contributing in your own way, too.

PSF prides itself on organizational diversity and does not discriminate based on sex, religion, sexual orientation, race, nationality, or political affiliation.  Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

So, what are you waiting for?! Fill out the application today and let us know why you would be a great volunteer and how you can contribute!
