Office Work
Not all volunteering with PSF
requires heavy lifting and dirty trousers. The day-to-day operation of a large
group of projects and volunteers calls for essential administrative roles. All
of our finances must be allotted and recorded, the multiple requests from members
of the community must be organized and filed, and all the daily problems must
be solved.
Site Assessment
People from the local community
come and ask for assistance building their homes and these requests must be
assessed. This requires someone to go out into the community and visit homes to
determine how we can help them. It is a great opportunity to meet the
community, see how they live, and get involved with the running of the organization.
It requires a good knowledge of Spanish and an observant eye for detail.

Fundraising
PSF is funded solely by volunteer
contributions and donations. Without this funding, our important work in this
community would be impossible. Fundraising is an important part of the organization,
not just to raise funds to run the organization but also to fund projects such
as those from the Miracle Fund and The Aceros Arequipa Housing Project. We always need grant writers and enthusiastic fundraisers to help keep us going.
Management Staff
There are
always opportunities for those volunteers who want to take on extra
responsibilities and dedicate more time to fill a management role. As we expand
and grow as an organization and our projects and community work get bigger, we
will require an increasing number of people to commit to leadership roles.
