The Modular Home Project
Thousands of people in and around
Pisco are still living in extreme conditions, in poorly constructed houses that
are often too hot or cold, unstable and dangerous. PSF receives a large
donation of free wood from a local steel company, Aceros Arequipa, and we use
this wood to address this housing issue. Modular panels are simple and quick to
build and assemble into modular homes. While they are not a permanent solution,
they are a great improvement on such poor living conditions. Each modular home
costs around $750 and takes roughly 2 weeks to build.
